I also finished a first draft of a novel and decided to shelve it, because I realized that I was too caught up in external achievement with book writing since it's been a dream of mine for so long, that I wasn't in a place to enjoy the process. I'm pursuing screenwriting rn (revising a TV pilot & working on writing, directing, and producing a short film), which has been a better shift for me so far. So, embracing the journey :)
I love the idea of reluctant competence. I will be implementing this immediately. 55,735 words!!! Keep going.
